Review of Kissing With Your Eyes Open

We love Baptiste cos they sound like Moose. This music is clean, restrained, tuneful, gtr'n'drums and the male vox who's so cool he can smoke a whole cig without using his fingers and without making his eyes water - and when you find a lover THAT good you so tend to want to hang on to him. Baptiste are playing the long game - those lovers are great too. Playing it slow... lovely... making about one single per decade till the word gets around on legs that meet at yr favourite spot, b-side starts with swearing and then becomes a gtr-heavy jangly instrumental. If all/any/other "underground" indie-gtr bands were as good as this then that Sid fella out of Who Moved The Ground wou;ld have a point [reference to review earlier in fanzine discussing the need for "underground groups to stick together"]. Hold on, phone just gone, someone wanting relief from the power of their beauty - "beauty is a curse" and all that stuff - yeah yeah tell me about it, and she did, but I had Baptiste on in the background for a few moments and that was very nice.
